WorldFood Ukraine the annual meeting place for food and beverage industries closed on October 25, after welcoming thousands of industry players to three-day event at International Exhibition Centre in Kiev.
 
Spotlighting the latest innovations and trends in the food and drink industries, the event was hailed a resounding success, bringing together more than 240 exhibitors, some established and some first-timers, from 23 countries including Italy, Spain, Germany, Lithuania, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, China, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Turkey and others.
Among them are companies tapping into some of the latest industry trends such as organic foods, craft foods, alcohol-free tipples, Italian and Chinese cuisine.
 
Over 9,000 trade professionals travelled from around the globe arriving from destinations in Asia, Europe, North America, Middle East and North Africa to 2018 edition of WorldFood Ukraine to take advantage of unique networking opportunities or simply trying to keep their fingers on the pulse of the hottest food trends.
 
The exhibition hall was buzzing with activity over the course of the expo, with hundreds of tastings, innovative technologies, varietals and packaging concepts providing an opportunity to Food Technologist and Producers, Trade and HoReCa Buyers, Wholesalers, Retailers, Export Merchants, Category Purchasing and Private Label Managers to touch, taste and experience all the latest products.
 
This year’s edition of WorldFood Ukraine delivered remarkable experiences in partnership with Wine&Spirits Ukraine Exhibition –  the first and the only international professional event for wine and spirits in Ukraine. Premier Wine&Spirits Ukraine offered wine producers, whether they are global suppliers or a local label, the unique business opportunity to present their products to the leading restaurateurs and sommeliers, buyers and distributors from Ukraine and all over the world.
 
Alongside the exhibition, WorldFood Ukraine together with Wine&Spirits provided a series of live events focused on the latest trends and regulations facing the wine and spirits industry. Among them Ukraine Wine&Spirits Awards – an international wine contest where wines from Ukraine, Georgia, France, Italy and Lithuania were evaluated and selected by a panel comprised of Ukrainian and World’s Sommeliers.
 
The exhibition business programme provided visitors, as well as exhibitors, with the chance to join seminars, master-classes and topical discussions hosted by a string of high profile speakers, who aim to inspire participants with ideas to grow their businesses:

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Food Processing from PROPECS
 
 
Through the traditional Buyer Program and Retail Centre services the leading players from retail and HoReCa sectors, distribution and wholesale companies from all over the world were invited to attend the exhibition and to conduct business negotiation with the reputable suppliers and start-ups.  
These free of charge matchmaking tools enables registered visitors and exhibitors who seek to boost their sales to search for and connect with each other before the exhibition, ensuring they can make the most of their time on-site.
 
 
This year WorldFood Ukraine Bayer's Lounge hosted 170 face-to-face meetings with the best buyers of 74 companies from Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Turkey and the USA.
 
180 meetings were held at WorldFood Retail Centre by exhibitors with major Ukrainian retailers: L`KAFA Group, FORA – a chain of convenient corner stores, Pakko Holding – one of the largest operators in the Ukrainian retail market, Auchan, LOTOK, OKKO Petrol Station, Cartel Family Restaurants, !FEST Holding of Emotions , Delikat – family grocery stores and many others.
