Tasting contest

WorldFood Ukraine

With support and participation of experts from the Central Tasting Commission, and Department of food of the Ministry of the agrarian policy and food of Ukraine.
 
I. MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE TASTING CONTEST

  • To promote the manufacture and sale of high-quality products in Ukraine
  • To promote a healthy lifestyle
  • To raise the cultural level of consumers in Ukraine

 
II. PROGRAMME OF THE TASTING CONTEST

  1. The contest will be held on 26 September 2018. Please send the signed Application form to 19th September 2018.
  2. Tasting contest categories:
  • WORLD VEGETARIAN UKRAINE 2018 – vegetarian food
  • WORLD FLAVOR UKRAINE 2018 – flavouring, spices, salt and their compositions.
  • WORLD  BREAD UKRAINE 2018 - bread and bakery; macaroni and cereals
  • WORLD BEER UKRAINE 2018 - beer
  • WORLD SNACK UKRAINE 2018 - breakfast cereals, chips, popcorn, crackers, nuts, seeds, and dried and smoked fish and meat products
  • WORLD SAUCE UKRAINE 2018 - sauces, ketchups, mayonnaises and salad dressings
  • WORLD SPIRITUS UKRAINE 2018 - vodkas, special vodkas, bitter liqueurs, sweet liqueurs, fruit liqueurs, balsams and low-alcohol drinks
  • WORLD VINUM UKRAINE 2018 - dry white wines (ordinary and vintage), dry red wines (ordinary and vintage), sparkling wines, strong and flavoured wines, cognacs and brandies
  • WORLD AQUA UKRAINE 2018 - drinking and mineral water, and drinks made using them          
  • WORLD JUICE UKRAINE 2018 - natural fruit and vegetable juices; concentrated fruit and vegetable juices; fruit, vegetable and mixed nectars; drinks; and fruit drinks
  • WORLD TEA & COFFEE UKRAINE 2018 - tea, coffee and cocoa
  • WORLD MEAT UKRAINE 2018 - all varieties of sausages, meat loafs, pâtés, brawn, smoked meat products, canned goods, meat and poultry products and delicacies
  • WORLD MILK UKRAINE 2018 - acidophilin, yogurt, kefir, bifilife, fermented boiled milk, butter, flavored butter, margarine, milk, dairy drinks, condensed milk, dry milk, fermented baked milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, cheeses and ice cream
  • WORLD FISH & SEAFOOD UKRAINE 2018 - fish: salted, cured and dried; smoked fish products, balyk products, caviar, canned fish, semi-finished fish products, and non-fish seafood.
  • WORLD SWEETS UKRAINE 2018 - sweets, chocolate, cocoa powder, eastern sweets, halva, fruit candy, pastilles, marshmallow, confectionary and bakery products
  • WORLD CANNED VEGETABLES & FRUIT UKRAINE 2018 - canned fruit and vegetables, jams, preserves, pickles and mushrooms
     
  1. The awards include Grand Prix medals and certificates for each category.
  2. The contest for the Grand Prix is held only amongst those products that came first in the preceding World Food Ukraine 2017 tasting contests.

 
III. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:
1. Any legal entity which produces and/or sells a product may participate in the contest.
2. To participate in the tasting contest, it is necessary to:

  • Submit an application by 19 September 2018
  • Make and confirm payment by 21 September 2018
  • Provide product samples and official documents by 21 September 2018

3. Product samples must be accompanied by:

  • An official letter confirming that the samples submitted to the contest are certified and their quality guaranteed by the producer
  • Copy of certificate of Trade Mark for goods and services
  • Technical parameters of the product: composition, production date and title of document on the basis of which the sample is made
  • Certificate of quality
  • Sample label

4. Product samples should be sent to the contest in consumer packaging. The total quantity of one product should be at least 2 kg, or 5 litres.  
5. Once samples are submitted they become the property of the Organiser and cannot be returned or replaced.
6. IMPORTANT: Product samples of companies which have not paid the participation fee will not be accepted for tasting.
7. Contestants agree to:
• Do not make any changes to the artwork of medals and / or the Grand Prix;
• place an image of medals and / or the Grand Prix (in case of victory) on the label and / or packaging of only those products that participated in the competition under application and the results of the competition in the Protocol testing commission;
• Do not transmit to the use of images of medals and / or the Grand Prix of third parties.
 
IV. PROCEDURE FOR TASTING

  1. The tasting protocol is led by an independent supervisory board of 3 people.
  2. Prior to the start of tasting, a protocol is drawn up for the samples accepted for tasting, with the signatures of the chairman of the tasting commission and the supervisory board, which is then brought to the attention of all the contest participants.
  3. The evaluation of the samples is carried out by the tasting commission according to a six point system.
  4. The tasting is carried out blind.  The members of the tasting commission only know the sample number and its composition.
  5. The result is based on the average score of the commission members (the score is rounded up to two decimal places).
  6. The protocol of results is approved by the chairman of the tasting commission chairman, and members of the commission and supervisory board.  
  7. Disputes over the results of tasting are settled by the tasting commission.
  8. The Organiser will send a copy of the tasting protocol to all the contestants within 10 days of the contest ending.

V. AWARDS CEREMONY

  1. The official awards ceremony for the winners of the tasting contest will be held on 23 October 2018 on the exhibition WorldFood Ukraine (Kyiv, 15, Brovarskaya ave., IEC).
